Land Rover Series 1 Station Wagon, 1949, by Tickford. Coachbuilders Tickford made these versions of the original Land Rover, it was well equipped with leather seats, a heater, a one-piece laminated windscreen, a spare wheel cover and interior wood trim. They were expensive to build and taxed as a private car, which attracted a high level of Purchase Tax compared to the utilitarian Land Rover. As a result, fewer than 700 Tickfords were sold however the concept of a relatively luxurious 4x4 could be seen a precursor to the Range Rover and the whole concept of a luxurious all-terrain vehicle

There are so many different Land Rovers. The Series models had so many variants it’s hard to pick just one but the Series I Tickford is in the top 100, er, well, ish.
